THE MOCKINGBIRD CINEMA & Kitchen hits the ground running this June, premiering the new Wonder Woman blockbuster movie, from DC Comics
There will be two screenings of Wonder Woman today, beginning at 5pm and then at 8pm.
Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, Princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that’s raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.
Wonder Woman was created by the American psychologist and writer William Moulton Marston and artist Harry G Peter, as a pro-feminist heroine but found fans everywhere. Her first appearance was All Star Comics #8 back in 1941; she was soon to star in Sensation Comics and then received her own title in 1942. One of DC’s most iconic characters she has weathered comic trends through the decades and is currently riding high with the Wonder Woman comic being both a commercial and critical success.
