PREPARE YOURSELF FOR a unique evening of offbeat pleasure as the Mockingbird Cinema & Kitchen with Factory Cinema Co present Ghost World as part of this year’s Birmingham Comics Festival.

Not only will there be a very special screening of the film adaptation of Daniel Clowes’ Ghost World graphic novel but it will be followed by a talk on the creator’s work given by Greg Basterfield.

When neo-cool Enid (Thora Birch) and Rebecca (Scarlett Johansson) are faced with their high school graduation they begin to take a hard look at the world they wryly observe and decide what they really want. Then, as Enid takes an interest in the offbeat Seymour (Steve Buscemi) and Rebecca focuses her attention on their mutual romantic fixation Josh (Brad Renfro), the girls’ friendship is forever changed.

This special Birmingham Comics Festival screening, followed by a lively discourse on Clowes’ work costs only £4… All that and you can have a bite to eat before hand (having come out of watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 at the same venue) and a nice cool drink soaking in the evening’s ray’s once you’ve seen the film!

Starting time for Ghost World is 7.30pm.
